AUTOMATED HIDE GRADING

Before any grade is assigned, every hide is measured: contour, zones, defects, and the nature of each defect. Grading schemes are just rules on top of that data.

How is the 99.99% grading accuracy measured?
The method note sets out the basis of the figure: what the grades are compared against, the sample, the stage and the method. Until the full basis is published, measured figures are available on request after a line audit. How we measure
Does NHQ replace our graders?
No. NHQ takes the repetitive half, finding, naming and measuring defects, so the grader gets the time back to judge. The last word stays human.
Can NHQ grade to our rules, or our customer’s spec?
Yes. Grade by side, full hide, zone or grid, with your own grade names and thresholds, or to a standard scheme such as USHSLA. Re-grade, no re-scan. Configuration, not code.

How fast is the line?
Up to 7 hides per minute, on a conveyor running at up to 50 m/min.
Where does NHQ sit in our line?
The hide arrives flat from sammying, gets its printed code, is scanned under multiple lights and graded by NHQ. It is then stacked by grade, and the data is sent on to your ERP.
What is printed on the hide, and where?
A code, printed in line and contactless, on an area agreed with your teams. It is read in the same scan.
